Campaign Issues
Economic Development
Managed growth is a great way to expand our tax base to provide for essential services and provide venues for our families (and nearby families) to enjoy Garden Ridge.
I support development that complements Garden Ridge and builds on the ‘personality’ of our city. I look forward to hearing the results of the Garden Ridge retail survey so I can help build and preserve Garden Ridge in the future.
Water Scarcity
I have served on our Water Commission for over 5 years with three of those as the Water Commission Chair. I will use my experience as a Commissioner to ensure we secure our water supply for the future.
The most recent State of Texas water plan predicts increasing demand and decreasing supply in future years. Now is the time for us to prepare and ensure we maintain access to these critical resources in the future.
Quarry Operations
Quarry operations, or Aggregate Production Operations, are well known to our residents. If elected to council, one of my key efforts will be mitigating the impact of these operations on our city.
From dust and noise to the impact to our roadways, I will work closely with with our quarry operators and other local leaders to minimize harmful effects on Garden Ridge.
Long Term Planning
I believe fiscal responsibility is one of the most serious duties of a council member. The best way I know to ensure fiscal responsibility is a long term plan for our our city. With long term planning we can take stock of our resources, required services and infrastructure to make sure we make good decisions to keep our city safe and secure. Of course, we always know surprises will arise but a good plan with the appropriate follow through will help our city weather any storms and keep Garden Ridge the beautiful town we all love.
