Elect Jim Mueller for Garden Ridge City Council!

Jim grew up north of Dallas in Little Elm, Texas. After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in 1992, he served in the Air Force for 24 years as a pilot/ operational planner and retired as a Colonel in 2017. Jim and Vanessa have been married for over 26 years and first moved to Garden Ridge in 2010. They have two boys, Samuel at Texas A&M and Ryan at Baylor University. Although the Air Force pulled them away for a while, they settled down here for good over 8 years ago. Jim currently works as a pilot for Air Methods - AirLIFE Texas flying out of the New Braunfels airport.

After military retirement, Jim wanted to get more involved in the Garden Ridge community. In 2019, he responded to a call for volunteers to serve on the Water Commission. A couple of years later, he was appointed as the Chair of the Water Commission. His time on the commission gave him the opportunity to learn more about the governance and services in our great city. This experience continues as an inspiration to serve on city council and help lead our city into the future.

Jim believes our government should be transparent, fiscally responsible, and responsive to our residents’ needs. His extensive background in military planning and experience working with city staff will help him work with other council members keep our city beautiful, safe, and secure for years to come.
